Since the end of October, I have been using the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. After a good amount of testing, I'm excited to report back to you with my thoughts and feelings. Long story short = I love it.

Before purchasing this foundation, I did A LOT of research via blogs and YouTube to get a real understanding of the pro's and cons. I also like researching so I can compare my colour match with bloggers with similar skin tones to me.

I bought Natural Beige in from Debenhams where I got colour matched. I later ended up buying the shade Warm Beige from Depop, as I still had my Dubai tan so was concerned it didn't match my neck. I would describe Natural Beige, my true to skin shade, with Warm Beige for my warmer skin tone in the Summer months. I'm happy that the foundation is yellow toned, as they tend to match my skin tone better.

It's important that I mention my skin type, as this is a huge influencing factor when it comes to base products. I have combination, acne prone skin in which my t-zone can get a little oily throughout the day and my cheeks are a little dry.

The coverage is definitely medium but is build-able to a slightly fuller coverage. As I have some scarring and angry spots, these don't always cover completely with just the foundation. I have to praise the coverage though, as no matter how much I build it up, it always looks flawless and smooth. I won't say it looks like 'skin' as you can tell you have make up on, but it is the closest you could get considering the level of coverage.

The formula is lovely and hydrating. Although my skin can get a little oily, I don't like to look overly matte and like a natural glow to my skin. I just make sure I powder through my t-zone to avoid any unwanted shine. The ingredients include; Coconut Water, Alpine Rose and Hyaluronic Acid, which all replenish hydration throughout the day.

My makeup notoriously disappears by the end of the day, no matter what prep I do. This is mainly due to me touching my face too much throughout the day and not always reaching for a primer. I have been pleasantly surprised with how well it stays on my skin, unlike other hydrating formulas that I have used.

I usually apply my makeup at 7am before work, have a quick top up of under-eye concealer at lunch time and then I'm home by 6pm. By that time some of my scarring is showing through, however it still looks presentable and a medium coverage.

In the UK, the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation retails for about £29. I think it's very reasonably priced for the standard 30ml bottle which comes in a lovely, sleek glass bottle. The bottle also has a pump which is a huge perk! One pump is enough for a natural medium coverage, I usually use two for that extra bit of help.

Does it live up to the claims?
  1. 100% said this foundation blurred their imperfections
  2. 98% said this foundation made their skin looks absolutely perfect
  3. 97% said this foundation provided natural coverage
On the whole, I completely agree with the above claims, although for me it only looks 'absolutely perfect' until early afternoon. Which is why, I'm setting myself a personal goal to stop leaning on my cheek at work.
